With only 2 exactly identical in existence, the first selling to a lucky fellow in North Carolina ( Flutterskai) for $61, these cubes are rare for the amount of quality they possess. In this picture, the custom made Rubik's Cube is sealed up, and placed next to what it used to look like.
If you think you can rack the price up to something which I just might turn my head for, be my guest. Otherwise you can simply gawk at the pictures.
More coming up, for news on upcoming auctions and merchandise, be sure to watch me and tune in every now and then for the best updates for all things custom MLP related.
Update: the owner of the second rubiks cube recently posted a YouTube video of him solving it! Go check it out here!
The artwork is not only the creation of stickers for a rubix cube, but also the customised packaging to fit in an existing plastic and all the production that goes along with the project.
First the cube looks great, we can't see all the sides. But form the rainbow dash mark side we can see that each sticker is on there cleanly and with what looks like a slight rounding to each corner. Very aesthetic.
The packaging is what really shines here. We can see a carefully constructed print for the main body which looks great. the main title is bold and inviting, haulmarks of good package branding. Good lower banner containing all the names that kids would want to buy. Would be good if it had included the Ages 8+ and 1 players marks to make it look more authoritative (bar-codes make things trust worthy for some reason) but it's good without too. The pink design is good and the brony pun apt.
We can't see if the packaging folds around as it does in the original, but it'd be great if it did.
The only thing I can see is that the square cut out of the pink background to hold the cube looks a little off angle. But that might also be the photo.
The full production looks smart, well crafted and well presented. Top marks.
